Mary Ann Haenni: Biography
Mary Ann Haenni, co-founder and executive director of Missouri Verses and Voices, is in her 29th year as Director of Vocal Music for the Savannah R-III School District in Savannah Missouri. In addition to directing all performance ensembles grades 7-12, Mary Ann teaches Music Theory and Music History and gives private voice instruction in Savannah and St. Joseph.
She is currently serving as president and interim administrator of the St.Joseph Community Chorus, after serving four years as the Educational Outreach Chair. She is creator/author of the award-winning An American Folk Journey: History Alive Through Music, an annual SJCC multimedia outreach program to area 4th and 5th grade students. Mary Ann is a member of the Missouri Choral Directors Association Executive Board, serving as Awards Chair. She is an active member of NWMCDA, having served in capacities as District Representative, District Choir Coordinator, and State Choir Coordinator. In 2006, Mary Ann was selected as MCDA Outstanding District Director from the Northwest District. Mary Ann is Minister of Music at Huffman Memorial United Methodist Church in St. Joseph. She serves on the Executive Board of Allied Arts of St. Joseph and maintains membership with MENC, MMEA, ACDA, MCDA, and Chorus America.
